TypeWords Terms of Use
Welcome to TypeWords, provided by Dozen Network Technology Co., Ltd. (上海豆阵网络科技有限公司). These terms form the agreement between you and us governing use of the app and related services.
Please read and understand these terms and the Privacy Policy before use. By starting or continuing to use the app, you agree to comply with these terms.
1. Services
TypeWords is an English spelling practice tool with built-in word lists, falling-word typing, unit practice, recall tests, scores, and local progress tracking.
The current version requires no registration or sign-in and does not provide accounts, cross-device sync, or cloud backup.
TypeWords is for general education and practice. It does not constitute a school curriculum, exam training, or a guarantee of learning outcomes.
2. Device data
Your word list selection, practice progress, scores, and typing speed settings are stored on your current device. We do not promise cross-device sync, backup, or recovery services. Changing devices, uninstalling the app, clearing app data, device damage, or system errors may cause data loss.
3. Rules of use
You must not use TypeWords to:
- Violate laws, public order, accepted standards of conduct, or the lawful rights of others;
- Disrupt, damage, or attempt unauthorized access to the app, its APIs, or related systems;
- Copy, rent, sell, or commercially exploit the app beyond what the law permits;
- Use the app or its content for fraud, cheating, or other improper conduct;
- Otherwise harm users, the platform, or the public interest.
4. Content and intellectual property
Intellectual property in TypeWords software, branding, interfaces, documentation, and platform-provided content belongs to us or the relevant rights holders. Without permission, you may not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially use it beyond normal personal use.
Word definitions and practice content are for general language learning reference. If you believe content contains errors or affects lawful rights, contact us using the details below.
5. Membership and in-app purchases
TypeWords membership is a non-renewing subscription offered through the Apple App Store, with terms of 1, 3, or 12 months as listed on the in-app purchase page. Membership does not renew automatically and you will not be charged automatically when it expires. To continue after expiration, you must make another purchase yourself.
During an active membership, you can use word lists marked as available to members. The purchase page lists the currently included word lists. Word lists added to membership benefits later are also available during your active membership. When membership expires, these lists are locked again, but existing local learning progress is generally retained.
You can purchase membership if you have no membership, your membership has expired, or no more than 30 days remain before expiration. If you purchase again before an active membership expires, the new term starts from the existing expiration time; otherwise, it starts at the time of purchase. Months are calendar months. The actual expiration time is the one shown in the app based on transaction records verified by Apple.
Prices, currencies, and applicable taxes are those shown by the App Store at purchase. Apple handles payment, transaction confirmation, refunds, and Apple Account management, also subject to the applicable Apple Media Services terms. We do not receive your bank card details or other complete payment information. To restore membership or previous purchases, use the Apple Account that made the original transaction and ensure that App Store services and an internet connection are available.
If Apple revokes, refunds, or invalidates a transaction, the corresponding access rights may also end. Where the law provides otherwise, those provisions apply.
6. Service changes and availability
We may update, adjust, suspend, or discontinue features according to product plans and provide notice as required by law through the app, website, release notes, or other reasonable means. Where paid membership benefits within an active term are affected, we will fulfill our legal obligations and take reasonable measures. We make reasonable efforts to maintain the app but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service or compatibility with every device and keyboard setting.
7. Disclaimers and limitations of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties regarding:
- Achievement of specific course, exam, memory, or language proficiency outcomes;
- Local data loss caused by uninstalling the app, clearing data, changing devices, or device failure;
- Problems caused by devices, systems, keyboards, App Store services, force majeure, or causes not attributable to us;
- Losses resulting from a user’s violation of these terms or the law.
8. Use by minors
Children under 14 should use the app with a guardian’s consent and guidance. Other minors should also use it under a guardian’s guidance. Guardians should manage usage time appropriately and pay attention to device safety. Minors must obtain a guardian’s consent before purchasing membership or other items.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms as laws, product features, or operational needs change. If you do not agree to an update, you may stop using and uninstall the app. We may take necessary measures in accordance with the law in response to violations of these terms or applicable laws.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of mainland China. The parties should first seek to resolve disputes amicably. If no agreement is reached, a claim may be brought before a competent people’s court in accordance with the law.
