Frequently asked questions
Do I need an internet connection or an account?
No app account is required. Editing, compilation, execution, and downloaded courses work locally; paid courses require valid access. Course downloads and updates, purchases and restoration, App Store version checks, and code that accesses external services require networking.
Why does the first run take longer?
iPhone, iPad, and Mac prepare the bundled toolchain and compile your code locally. Initial preparation is usually slower than later runs and depends on the device and code complexity. If execution makes no progress, stop and try again. For recurring issues, contact support with the project environment and console information.
Why does my program show “Waiting for Input”?
The program is reading standard input. Send a line from the console, send EOF when finished, or fill in preset input before running. Course checks use test input and show that input and the actual output in the check console.
How do I access my project server?
Run the server in the project’s server workspace first, then connect from the client in the same project to http://cppstarter:8080, for example http://cppstarter:8080/hello in the default template. This is an internal project address, unavailable to external browsers or other devices. Restart the server after editing its code. In-memory data in the default template resets when the server restarts.
What should I do if a program keeps running?
Tap Stop. Console programs also have execution-time and output limits. Games, graphical interfaces, and project servers can keep running; stop them when finished.
Why is my project missing?
Try Settings → Deleted Projects. Permanently deleted projects or cleared app data may not be recoverable. Projects, exercise drafts, and progress are stored on the current device; export important projects separately.
How do IDE Pro and Learning Pro differ?
IDE Pro is a one-time purchase for multiple and advanced projects. Learning Pro provides paid course access for 1, 3, or 12 months without automatic renewal. They are separate purchases; course exercises do not require IDE Pro.
How do I restore purchases?
Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, open IDE Pro or Learning Pro in Settings, and select Restore Purchases. Restoration requires networking and restores valid access and remaining time, not expired Learning Pro periods or local projects and progress. If products cannot load, check the connection and reload them.
What happens to my exercise code when Learning Pro expires?
Saved exercise code and progress remain. You can open existing code from saved exercises. Paid course access and course checks require valid Learning Pro access. There is no automatic renewal or deletion of local records at expiry.
